Standard 8: Displays Values, Knowledge, Practice

The program prepares graduates who display values, use knowledge, and practice inclusively in four areas: children and youth, teaching and learning, collaborative relationships, and societal concerns.

Sample Indicators:

  • Graduates understand that children and youth vary in their rate of development; they plan, teach and evaluate age appropriate learning activities to ensure the continuous intellectual, social, and physical development of diverse students
  • Graduates modify learning environments and adapt instructional strategies to accommodate a variety of student learning styles
  • Graduates motivate all students to engage in active learning, positive social interaction and collaboration
  • Graduates foster relationships with school colleagues, parents, and community-based agencies to advocate and support students learning and well-being
  • Graduates are ethical and reflective practitioners who continually evaluate the effects of their choices and actions on others
  • Graduates are lifelong learners who actively pursue opportunities for professional growth
